Welcome to Keep It Off
Most people have been on at least one diet in their lifetime and have been successful at losing weight, at least in the short-term. However, keeping the weight off over the long term has proven to be a major hurdle. In fact, some studies have shown that the majority of people regain weight they’ve lost within about two years. Though weight loss programs often have a weight maintenance phase, by then, the novelty of the program has worn off for most participants. By designing programs just for weight loss maintenance, we hope to provide people with the critical information and support they need to keep their weight off, right at the time when they need it most.
Researchers at the HealthPartners Research Foundation and the University of Minnesota received funding from the National Institutes of Health to conduct the Keep It Off study. The goal of Keep It Off is to test new programs designed to help people keep off weight they have lost for the long-term. |
